The talent war
The work market has come to the situation where human resources have become a big challenge. It affects every sector, including banking and insurance. After 25 years of transformation, it has become more than demographic, emigration has become widespread, our economy is quite different, and people are getting richer. How can we persuade young talents so that they would want to develop in financial sectors? One of the ideas which came up during the Advisory Board meetings, which were chaired by Mariusz Grendowicz and Artur Olech, is to show young people how many innovations find implementation in banks and insurance companies. Examples of such modern and futuristic implementations will be presented by the biggest experts of the sector who will be present during the upcoming edition of the Warsaw International Banking Summit and Insurance Forum in Warsaw. What innovations will they be talking about?
Don’t sleep through the revolution
In times where everything is happening so fast, it’s not surprising that the newest innovative technologies get to the offices and become daily routine. The need for new products is high, so during the autumn meeting, there can’t be a lack of examples of implementing artificial intelligence, blockchain or IoT. Progress also brings threats with it. Cyberattacks are becoming more and more common. Does the insurance sector have to create a special policy for the event of hacking attacks and customer data leaks, especially taking into account GDPR? Maybe they should consider how to protect themselves from cyber attacks with banks?
Lots of solutions are coming into effect, and the financial market is not ready for them, even hypothetically. In the Smart City era, we think more and more about autonomic, shared cars, but who will insure the car from accidents and pay compensation to the passengers? Is the insurance market ready for it? The group of authorities that will be at the Warsaw International Banking Summit and Insurance Forum will debate on what the needs of the future are and how insurance companies and banks will look like in the years to come. In which direction is the world aiming and is it possible to find 5 current megatrends by observing the biggest players on the market? If so, where’s Poland?

Thanks to such meetings as the XVI Warsaw International Banking Summit and XII Insurance Forum, the prognosis for the sector will be better and better. During the autumn edition of the event, there’ll be no lack of discussion on regulations, economy 4.0, distribution models and methods of financing the economy. The advantage of this conference is that the leaders of both the banking and insurance industries as well as fintechs are meeting here. It is always good to exchange experiences, because the market is dynamically changing, in the digital world the boundaries between banks, insurers and fintechs are blurred. The market is also changing from the regulatory side and a lot of things are coming. This common thinking and exchange of views is always good added Wojciech Sass, President of the Board, Nationale-Nederlanden.
