In the light of the UK’s forthcoming decisions regarding Brexit, the financial market needs answers to several key issues regarding the operation of the Polish economy. How do the changes within the European Union affect the banking and insurance sector? Will the eventual departure of the United Kingdom from the EU limit the sale of services on the market? Many financial organisations operate cross-border and any changes in EU membership have a strong impact on their activities. This relationship will be the focus of debates during the inaugural part of the Meeting of Banking and Insurance Leaders, meaning the 17th Banking Forum and 13th Insurance Forum.
Insurance and longevity
Due to the extension of the average life expectancy of citizens, the silver generation group is growing faster and faster. These are clients who are particularly demanding and need a tailor made, non-standard offer. The 13th Insurance Forum will meet the demands of this group of recipients. Speakers will think about what, apart from standard pension products, best meet the expectations of this group of buyers. It may be worth considering services connected with care, health or technical support. Inspiration and specific examples will be found in our neighbour in Germany. Their solutions, as well as the consequences of innovations introduced by them, will be a valuable source of knowledge. During the event, there will also be space for an interview under the slogan “war of talents”, understood better as keeping an employee rather than merely acquiring one. One of the debates will also be devoted to the issues of digitization and the impact of motoring on the shaping of insurance.
Technologies and banking
Are modern innovations the basis for building future banking? This question will be the basis of most panels during the 17th Banking Forum. Because under every issue and problem, there is a technology that can improve the process and increase profits. The use of blockchain and AI in banking may be the first answer to the question asked. Debates will also be about servicing and acquiring customers, which will undoubtedly change in the era of digital banking. Security is also a topic that is particularly important within e-banking. Experts will consider how technology can increase the sales of financial services. One can not forget about payments with which modern technologies open up completely new perspectives. In this case, traditional branches with modern banking will be compared.
The previous edition of the event, thanks to the participation of the best experts in the banking and insurance sectors, proved to be a great success. During the two days of the congress, over 600 participants had the opportunity to hear and network with 87 speakers from Poland and abroad. “Combining the Insurance Forum with the Banking Forum in one event is a great idea – here there are a lot of contact points, common topics, looking for synergy and building business connections.” – Paweł Holnicki-Szulc, Director General of the Polish Branch, Colonnade Insurance S.A.
