On the 16th of January 2019, the Meeting of the Banking Forum Advisory Board took place. The meeting was to determine the substantive scope on the basis of which the spring edition of the congress would be planned. The meeting was chaired by Mariusz Grendowicz who gave direction to the lively substantive discussions of the best experts in the financial industry.
Unchanged for thirteen editions, the Banking Forum will start with the Insurance Forum accompanying him. So the session of the Advisory Board meeting started with the identification of topics that could be discussed as a common part, combining banking and insurance issues. The majority of voices decided that it would be the very current issue of Brexit. How do changes within the European Union affect the Polish banking sector? Many financial organisations operate cross-border and any changes in EU membership have a strong impact on their activities. The debates during the Meeting of Banking and Insurance Leaders, meaning the 17th Banking Forum and the 13th Insurance Forum will be the subject of this relationship. During the ceremonial opening of the congress, speakers will also consider security in the financial market.
A thematic framework was established during the meeting which will be used to create the spring agenda of the 17th Banking Forum. The agenda will certainly include a reflection on the implementation of technology in Polish banks, robotisation in banking processes or the issue of mobile payments. Speakers will debate the role of Shared Service Centers for the financial market. An important question that the experts at the Banking Forum will look for answers is: How can financial institutions win the fight for clients in an increasingly competitive market?
The detailed agenda of the 17th Banking Forum will be presented soon.
