The opening of the spring edition of the Meeting of Banking and Insurance World Leaders was hosted by the Chairmen of the Banking Forum and Insurance Forum Advisory Boards, Mariusz Grendowicz and Artur Olech. After the inaugural speech, the guest of honor, Anna Trzecińska, Vice-President of the Management Board, National Bank of Poland, took the floor. Through the next two panels, banking and insurance went hand-in-hand, addressing topics such as brexit, cross-border entities or security. The congress than split into two tracks, one dealing with topics closer to banking, the other concerned topics regarding insurance. In order to provide participants with inspiration and practice, examples of implementations of specific solutions for companies were presented using short, meaningful use cases. This formula allowed for the debating of issues such as:
- technology as the basis for building future banking,
- shared services in banking,
- insurance against the challenges of the 21st century,
- development of motorization that is shaping the future of insurance.
Speakers willingly expressed themselves within thematic blocks concerning modern, innovative solutions. Experts from the banking track widely discussed the issues of the value chain in open banking and the struggle of financial institutions for clients on an increasingly competitive, digitized market. They also answered the question about the evolution of payments. In the insurance room, however, the topics of the future insurer in the digitized world as well as the data analysis and machine learning were leading. At the end, there were a few words about recruiting employees in the era of the changing labor market. Are the industries discussed during the two days of the congress attractive for young, talented people and how to win and then retain these candidates? During the debate, the results of the Aon Best Employers survey 2018 were presented as an answer to the question asked.
